Vice President JD Vance said he's aware ofthe accusations made by prominent Northern Kentucky MAGA donor Eric Detersagainst Kimberly Guilfoyle, alleging that Guilfoyle asked him to pay off her $100,000 credit card before she became U.S. ambassador to Greece.
Vance, who chairs the president's task force that seeks to eliminate fraud
, said he didn't want to take a position on it when asked by an Enquirer reporter beforeboarding Air Force 2 at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on Oct. 9.Vance said he's known Guilfoyle for a long time but didn't want to "try people in the court of public opinion."

Vance: 'Let's actually see what the facts are'
"These are accusations," said Vance, noting that he has known Guilfoyle for a long time.
"You don't take messages that people allegedly
had between one person or another, or one person's story and say, 'Oh because of that, Kimberly Guilfoyle is guilty.' I think that's absurd. Let's actually see what the facts are."
Vance said that "if there was something bad that happened, then people have to suffer the consequences."
What did Eric Deters say about Kimberly Guilfoyle?
Deters said Guilfoyle asked Deters to pay $100,000 toward her American Express bill before her Senate confirmation hearing last year ahead of her confirmation to be Trump's ambassador to Greece.
Deters said he had been seeking Guilfoyle’s help with tax and legal matters and had discussed potential payments if she helped him reach Trump administration officials.
“Honey please I need you to get this done for me today,”she texted Deters, according to records Deters released.
Guilfoyle’s lawyer said she disputed the authenticity of the messages, adding that Guilfoyle was owed money for prior event appearances. Democrats have requested a State Department review.
