Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine was injured during the third quarter of the team's NFL Week 3 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium.
Perine remained down on the field after teammate Ke'Shawn Williams' kick return, which followed a Pittsburgh scoring drive.
Perine got up on his own and walked off the field under his own power. He went to the blue medical tent for evaluation, and returned to the game.
In March 2025, the Bengals signed Perine, who played for the Bengals for parts of four seasons from 2019 to 2022. Perine played the 2024 season for the Kansas City Chiefs.
During the 2025 season, Perine injured his ankle during the fourth quarter of the team's NFL Week 15 loss to Baltimore at Paycor Stadium. Earlier in the season, Perine suffered
a right ankle injury during the second quarter of the Bengals' 47-42 loss to Chicago.
Bears linebacker D'Marco Jackson was fined $6,111 for the hip-drop tackle that injured Perine, the NFL announced last November.
