Former Princeton High School basketball star A'mire Gill has committed to play college basketball for Miami (Ohio). Gill, who helped Princeton to a state title earlier this year, made the announcement in front of family and friends Sept. 27 in downtown Cincinnati. The RedHawks are coming off a historic 32-2 season under Travis Steele.
Gillled Princeton to the OHSAA Division I boys basketball state championship in March and racked up several individual honors. Gill, a senior in the Class of 2027, will play this season for Masters Academy International, a prep school in Stow, Massachusetts, near Boston, before returning to the area and playing for the RedHawks.
Gill, a 6-foot-3 guard, led the Vikings to a 25-3 record and the OHSAA Division I state championship, averaging 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. In the state final, he scored 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting. He was first-team all-state and all-district, and the Enquirer co-player of the year in Division I. He was also The Enquirer's co-boys basketball player of the year at the 2026 Cincinnati High School Sports Awards live show in June.
