NFL analyst Louis Riddick expressed concern about the Cincinnati Bengals' offensive line Aug. 26 on ESPN's "Get Up."
"As much as they are a trendy pick and as good as Joe Burrow is and as many investments as they made on the defensive side of the football, you saw the preseason game against Detroit, right?" Riddick explained. "You saw how many times Joe got hit in that game, right? The offensive line is still a problem. That could derail everything."
"I love the additions they made on defense," Riddick continued. "I'm as optimistic as anyone but this offensive line still scares me. They have never corrected this issue. And I still don't believe it's corrected. I think Joe's gonna have to overcome it."
Burrow was sacked by Detroit Lions defensive
end Ahmed Hassanein during the first quarter of the first preseason game, and Burrow was hit as he threw by Lions defensive end Eric O'Neill.
Burrow didn't play in the team's second preseason game against Chicago, and he's not expected to face the Eagles in their third preseason game.
In April, former Bengals offensive tackle Willie Anderson responded to a tweet by ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky by defending the team's offensive line after Orlovsky pointed out that each of Cincinnati's AFC North rivals has a great pass rusher.
