A Wyoming man who pleaded guilty to raping a girl who prosecutors said was kept inside a cage has been sentenced to 22 to 33 years in prison.
Barry Bedenkop, 62, was sentenced Oct. 26 by Hamilton County Common Pleas Judge Patrick Dinkelacker to a prison term that had been agreed upon as part of his plea.

Bedenkop did not make a statement during the court hearing.
The girl's mother told Dinkelacker that she, herself, had been groomed by Bedenkop when she was young and he was in his 30s.
Bedenkop, she said, had damaged both her and her daughter.
"You are despicable and disgusting," she said, adding that Bedenkop kept "trophies" of his crimes as photos.
According to prosecutors, Bedenkop began abusing the girl when she was about 5 and continued until
she was a teenager. Prosecutors said he sometimes would keep her in a dog cage.
Her aunt told Dinkelacker during the sentencing that the girl "was trapped in a living nightmare for most of her life."
Wyoming police began investigating Bedenkop in late-May 2025, and he was arrested and jailed on May 24, 2025.
He ultimately was charged in four separate indictments with 22 counts, including rape, sexual battery and charges related to creating sexually explicit images involving the girl.
