TheCincinnati Reds are calling up 22-year-out outfielder Carlos Jorge from Triple-A Louisville, The Enquirer has confirmed.

The move was first reported by MLB Insider Mike Rodriguez.

Jorge, who will turn 23 later this month, is the Reds' No. 16 overall prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.

Jorge signed with the Reds out of the Dominican Republic for $495,000 during the 2020-21 international signing period.

Across stints at Double-A Chattanooga (59 games) and Triple-A Louisville (29 games) this season, Jorge is slashing .308/.376/.427.

He has 21 extra-base hits, including eight home runs, and 43 RBIs. On the basepaths, he is 33-of-38 stealing bases.

Jorge hit .330 in Chattanooga this season before getting called up to Triple-A Louisville in June. With the Bats, Jorge hit .263 with 11 RBIs and stole 10 bases. He'll provide defensive flexibility for the Reds down the stretch having played all three outfield positions and second base so far this season.
