Linebacker Jackson Kuwatch, a former Lakota West High School standout from Miami University, made the Carolina Panthers' 53-man roster, and received a congratulatory tweet from Firebirds head coach Tom Bolden.
Kuwatch was selected by the Panthers in the seventh round (227th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Kuwatch, who played three seasons for the RedHawks after spending his first two college seasons at Ohio State, was among players invited to the Bengals' local pro day workout April 14 at Paycor Stadium.
Kuwatch started 14 games for Miami in 2025, recording 109 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks, earning third-team all-MAC honors.
Kuwatch was named first-team all-GMC and earned Southwest Ohio defensive player of the year honors as a senior
at Lakota West.
