Five Cincinnati Public School buildings are closed Aug. 13 due to power outages, the district stated in a press release.
The district's outages join the 180,000 Duke Energy customers who lost power starting Tuesday night, Aug. 11, after rounds of storms and damaging winds slammed parts of Indiana and central Ohio.
The following CPS buildings will be closed Thursday:
- Education Center (The district's central and Board of Education offices).
- James N. Gamble Montessori High School.
- Westwood School.
- Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies.
- Oyler School.
All in-person services at the Education Center on Burnet Avenue are canceled for Aug. 13, the district shared. Activities scheduled at the four schools listed above are canceled unless the school or program at the respective building says otherwise.
What is the first day of school for CPS?
CPS students don't return to school until Wednesday, Aug. 19.
