Frisch’s Big Boy has reopened its newly remodeled Fort Wright restaurant, bringing back its signature tartar sauce-slathered burgers.
The restaurant, at 494 Orphanage Road in Fort Wright, opened nearly two years after Frisch’s closed dozens of locations in the region.
According to a news release, the restaurant is locally owned by Cheryl White, who worked for Frisch’s for more than 30 years. The eatery, which previously operated as a Frisch’s, was fully remodeled by Kelle Construction.
The entire staff from the former Kyles Lane location, which closed July 12, will transfer to the new restaurant, the release said.
The remodeled Fort Wright restaurant was among the locations that closed during a wave of shutdowns in the final months of 2024, when
the company shuttered dozens of stores after its landlord sought to evict them from more than 50 locations.
Before the mass closing, Frisch's had more than 80 locations in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Now the diner chain currently has 31 locations across the area.
