Reports of on-campus rape at the University of Cincinnati jumped in September, according to officials.
In 2026, UC police have investigated six rape cases as of Sept. 30, according to department spokesperson Kelly Cantwell and court records. By the end of September in 2024 and 2025, only three on-campus rapes were reported to police.
For all four reported assaults this September, Cantwell said the suspects and victims had met earlier the same day.
Khamarion Lampkin, 18, of Cleveland, is accused of raping someone at Daniels Hall on Sept. 2, according to Hamilton County court records. Lampkin was later indicted on two felony rape charges and two misdemeanor gross sexual
imposition charges on Sept. 17.
University police responded again to Daniels Hall on Sept. 19 for two sexual assault reports, Cantwell told The Enquirer via email. The suspects met the victims earlier in the night, she said. Police also responded to University Park Apartments on Sept. 28 for an alleged assault that occurred the day prior, Cantwell said.
The two other on-campus rapes were reported in earlier this year. One was reported in April. The second was reported in June, though Cantwell said the reported rape occurred last year.
University resources for victims
Every victim of the September sexual assaults was connected with victim services, Cantwell said. The university employs a victim coordinator who can help students file stayaway orders and provide support as they navigate the criminal justice system.
New students are required to take a sexual assault prevention course. That must be repeated when undergraduate students become juniors or if any student joins a registered student organization.
UC also hosts trainings for bystanders to identify and support those experiencing gender-based violence.
The university's victim coordinator can be reached by calling 513-556-4905 or emailing victimservices@ucmail.uc.edu.
