You won't get to see two famous Asian elephants next time you're at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden.
Schottzie and her elephant friend Jati found a new home at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the animal theme park revealed in a Facebook post earlier this month.
50-year-old Schottzie, whose full name is 'Princess Schottzie II,' is the long-time matriarch of the Cincinnati Zoo. She was brought to Cincinnati from Denmark with the help of her namesake, former Reds owner Marge Schott.
The duo's move to Busch Gardens is part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums' Species Survival Plan, the Facebook post reads.
According to the post, elephants move to places like Busch Gardens to allow their home zoos to bring in new animals to breed, which helps endangered
species survive.
Schottzie and Jati have already moved to Busch Gardens, according to Tampa Bay news channel WTSP-Channel 10. The outlet also reported the Florida Highway Patrol escorted them to the zoo.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay describes itself as "Florida's ultimate theme park." The park features rides and roller coasters as well as one of North America's largest zoos, according to its Facebook page.
Busch Gardens' owner, United Parks & Resorts Inc., also owns SeaWorld and a few other parks.
