The Melting Pot is set to return to Memphis after 16 years away.
Known for its tableside fondue pots, The Melting Pot will reopen in East Memphis at 1199 Ridgeway Road, formerly occupied by a Pyro’s Fire Fresh Pizza, according to permits filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development.
The roughly 5,000 square foot space will cost about $940,000 to renovate, according to permits.
The Melting Pot initially opened a Memphis location in 2004 at 2828 Wolfcreek Parkway in the Wolfchase area, before closing down in 2010. The Tampa, Florida-based chain, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, still maintained a presence in Memphis by partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for over 20 years as its official
charitable partner, raising $18 million for the hospital as of 2025.
The Commercial Appeal first reported that Melting Pot would return in February 2025, and now over a year later, that's finally coming together. Applicants did not immediately respond to questions regarding an opening date.
If anxious to try The Melting Pot again, the closest option is the location in the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield, Missouri.
