Chili's Grill & Bar committed $150 million to support a new clinical center at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the institution announced Sept. 8.
Chili's committed $150 million, distributed over the next 15 years, to support the new Chili's Clinical Center. The 700,000 square foot facility will bring major outpatient services together under one roof and will include spaces designed to help families navigate care and maintain as much normalcy as possible during treatment, according to a Sept. 8 press release from St. Jude.
“This extraordinary commitment from our friends at Chili’s is a powerful example of how generosity can change lives,” said Ike Anand, President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital. “For more than 20 years, Chili’s guests and Team Members have helped support families facing some of life’s toughest challenges and fuel the research that is helping drive childhood cancer survival rates higher in the U.S. and around the world. We are profoundly grateful for Chili’s steadfast partnership and unwavering support of the St. Jude mission.”
The center will accompany a 587,000 square foot clinical office building, part of the hospital's 2022-27 strategic plan, which is the largest expansion in the institution's history.
The center is scheduled to open in February 2027.
Chili's is also bringing back the Create-A-Pepper campaign during September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Guests can purchase a Create-A-Pepper coloring sheet for a $1, $5, $10 or $25 donation with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude. Chili's restaurant staff hang the coloring sheets on their walls through September.
