A temporary replacement for ex-Town of Collierville Administrator Molly Mehner has been named, as the Town begins the search for a permanent replacement.
Katrina Amos-Atkins was appointed Sept. 21, as the interim Town of Collierville administrator effective immediately, according to a news release.
Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser, pursuant to the Collierville town charter, appointed Atkins to the role with full support from the Collierville Board of Alderman, the news release said.
Amos-Atkins will manage operations across 12 departments and more than 600 employees, while the board conducts a search for a permanent successor.
Amos-Atkins has served as deputy town administrator of Collierville since September 2024, and has been involved in the
day-to-day administration of the town, departmental coordination and ongoing projects, according to town officials.
"Katrina Amos-Atkins, brings deep institutional knowledge to this role, and the board is confident in their ability to lead our staff and maintain the services our residents count on,” Fraser said. “This is a moment for steady leadership, and Katrina is well-positioned to provide that as we move forward together as a town and through the selection process of a permanent town administrator.”
Amos-Atkins has also been involved in shaping Collierville in other ways.
She has had direct oversight of Animal Services since April 2025; has worked to refine the town’s emergency preparedness operations plan; has played a vital role in the ongoing implementation of Collierville’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; has led project management for the library expansion and renovation;and has created and executed training for the town’s boards and commissions.
Past airport manager
Before coming to Collierville, Amos-Atkins most recently served as the airport manager for the City of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She also served on several boards in Missouri, including the Missouri State Aviation Council and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business management and leadership from Purdue University Global.
According to the release, the recruitment and selection process for new town administrator will begin in the coming days and be broken into a series of engaged activities beginning with the release of an request for proposal for a firm to oversee the search and recruitment process. The process will include collecting staff and community feedback on the priorities for a new town administrator.
While the charter allows the mayor authority to appoint a temporary town administrator, the BMA's duty is to hire a permanent replacement.
Mehner signs severance agreement
Mehner and the town “amicably parted ways” on Sept. 18.
Mehner caught public ire from some residents and officials due to the handling of Fire and Rescue Chief John Selberg's alleged subpar work performance. Selberg later resigned amid questions about his leadership.
Mehner was appointed as town administrator in October 2022 and was the town’s first woman in the position. Mehner will receive 9 months of severance pay in agreement with Collierville.
