It’s just about September, and as summer turns to fall, the Mid-South concert calendar continues ramping up with plenty of noteworthy national acts passing through the region and numerous shows worth checking out.
Next month will see the launch of a new venue in Crosstown with multiple shows, concerts from Country Hall of Famers, Memphis music legends in soul and hip-hop, iconic R&B acts and more.
Here are 10 of the best shows coming to Memphis in September.
Alabama: Sept. 3, Radians Amphitheater
The Memphis Botanic Garden’s Live at the Garden concert series continues in September, with a rescheduled date from Country Music Hall of Famers Alabama. The hitmaking outfit was originally scheduled to play in June but the concert was postponed due to inclement weather. Alabama will headline
a show at the Radians Amphitheater on Sept. 3. The concert will feature an opening set by Michael Ray. Tickets: $82. Go to Ticketmaster.com.
The Band Camino: Sept. 4-5, Satellite Music Hall
Memphis-rooted rock group The Band Camino returns to town to help launch the city’s newest concert venue, Satellite Music Hall. The Band Camino will officially kick things off at Satellite with a pair of shows on Sept. 4-5. Tickets $64. Go toTicketmaster.com.
Band of Heathens: Sept. 9, Minglewood Hall
Midtown’s Minglewood Hall will host a show by Texas rockers Band of Heathens. The Austin-based group will stop in town on Sept. 9 as part of a tour supporting their ninth and latest album, “Country Sides.” Tickets: $34. Go to Ticketmaster.com.
Booker T. Jones: Sept. 10, Overton Park Shell
Memphis entertainment institution the Overton Park Shell will mark its 90th anniversary in September with a multiday celebration featuring a performance by Stax Records legend Booker T. Jones as part of the festivities. One of the architects of Memphis soul sound, Jones — who founded and led Stax house band Booker T. & The M.G.'s — will headline a ticketed concert at the Shell on Sept. 10. 8Ball & MJG: Sept. 11-12, Orpheum
Memphis rap legends 8Ball & MJG will headline a pair of special concerts at Downtown’s Orpheum on Sept. 11-12. The shows will see 8Ball & MJG performing their hits backed by Atlanta’s Renaissance Orchestra. The concerts will also feature performances by Texas hip-hop great and UGK veteran Bun B. Ricky Skaggs: Sept. 12, Germantown Performing Arts Center
Country and bluegrass great Ricky Skaggs returns to the Germantown Performing Arts Center in September. The 15-time Grammy winner will headline a show, along with his band Kentucky Thunder, at GPAC on Sept. 12. Tickets: $45-$62. Go to GPACweb.com.
Patti LaBelle and Kool & the Gang: Sept. 18, Radians Amphitheater
One of the true queens of R&B, Patti LaBelle will join forces with “Celebration” hitmakers Kool & the Gang for a big double bill that will close out the Memphis Botanic Garden’s Live at the Garden concert series for 2026. The LaBelle/Kool & the Gang show is set for Sept. 18 at Radians Amphitheater. Tickets: $77 for lawn, $213 for the pit. Go to Ticketmaster.com.
'Weird Al' Yankovic: Sept. 26, Landers Center
Musical parodist “Weird Al" Yankovic returns to the Mid-South in September. Yankovic will headline a show at the Landers Center in Southaven on Sept. 26 as part of his “Bigger and Weirder Tour,” a full-production multimedia comedy rock show that will see him playing his iconic hits as well as some never-performed-live-before fan favorites. Built to Spill: Sept. 29, Minglewood Hall
Pacific Northwest indie rock veterans Built to Spill will play Minglewood Hall in September. The group, led by guitarist/vocalist Doug Martsch, will headline an all-ages show at the Midtown venue on Sept. 29. Tickets: $48. Go to Ticketmaster.com.
Indigo Girls: Sept. 29, Overton Park Shell
Grammy-winning folk duo the Indigo Girls and pop hitmaker Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes will headline a show at the Overton Park Shell. The concert — part of the venue’s ticketed Shell Yeah! Benefit Series — will take place Sept. 29, capping a series of events celebrating the Shell’s 90th anniversary. Tickets for that show are $42 in advance or $50 day of show.
