The Memphis Grizzlies made an impressive statement on Oct. 5 when theyput together a strong showing in their preseason opener against the Atlanta Hawks.
Now the question is if that performance was an anomaly or a sign of things to come in the next era of Memphis basketball.
The Grizzlies are back in preseason action on Oct. 7 (7 p.m. CT, DAZN-MEM) at FedExForum against the Orlando Magic. This is the second of four Grizzlies preseason games.
Most of the team remains healthy, which is encouraging for building chemistry. CentersIsaiah Stewart and Zach Edey aren’t expected to play.Quinten Post, Taylor Hendricks and Carson Cooper are expected to play most of the minutes at center.
Memphis will also see the return of former shooting guard Desmond Bane,
who played five seasons with the team before being traded in June 2025.
The Grizzlies will acknowledge Bane, but they will wait until his regular season return on Feb. 10 to do a full tribute video.
