The early voting period is drawing to a close as the Nov. 3 elections approach. The absentee ballot request deadline has already passed, so if you can't make it to the polls on Election Day and you didn't already request an absentee ballot, you only have a few days left to cast your vote.
During early voting, you can also vote at any open polling place; you do not have to vote at your assigned precinct, unlike on Election Day.
The last day of early voting will be Oct. 29, and all but one early voting location will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the remaining days of early voting. The polling place at the Shelby County Election Commission's Downtown site, in the James Meredith Building on Poplar Avenue, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
