Former Memphis basketball player Jayden Hardaway is following in his father's footsteps. Again.
Hardaway, the son of Memphis basketball coach Penny Hardaway, first followed his dad by playing for the Tigers (2019-24). Now, he's starting his journey on the other side of the game.
Hardaway has been named video coordinator for the Chicago Bulls, the team announced Sept. 14. He's joining the staff of new coach Tiago Splitter, who was hired this offseason to replace Billy Donovan.
After spending the 2024-25 season playing for the Capital City Go-Go in the NBA G League, Hardaway is now moving on to coaching.
He spent his entire collegiate career with the Tigers and was the first player to commit to Memphis after his dad got the job in 2018. Hardaway's
best statistical year was 2022-23, when he started 19 games and averaged 5.4 points per game. He played with his brother, Ashton Hardaway, during the 2023-24 season.
Memphis' 2026-27 season tips off on Nov. 2 when the Tigers face Iowa State in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
