Election day is quickly approaching, and Shelby County voters will weigh in on numerous local, state and federal races on Aug. 6.
The county's general election will determine the next mayor of Shelby County, a slate of Shelby County Commissioners, judicial clerks and several other positions.
The Aug. 6 election will also feature state and federal primary elections, which will be the first time the new Congressional maps will be in effect, giving many county residents different representation in Congress.
Here is how to find your sample ballot for the August county general and state and federal primary.
Preview the county general election sample ballot
Shelby County voters will choose between Democratic, Republican or Independent candidates for county positions in this week's election.
To find the
sample ballot for the Shelby County general election, visit www.electionsshelbytn.gov and navigate to the "Elections" tab on the top of the webpage. Select the "Upcoming Elections" page, where you will see an option to view the sample ballot for the general election only.
How to access primary sample ballots ahead of time
Voters will also choose their party's candidates for several state and federal positions, including Tennessee governor, statehouse positions and U.S. Congress.
To view the Democratic or Republican primary sample ballot before heading to the polls, visit www.electionsshelbytn.gov and navigate to the "Elections" tab at the top of the webpage. Select the "Upcoming Elections" page, which hosts links to both parties' sample ballots.
