A major footwear retailer is planning to open its first location in DeSoto County.
Hibbett, a Birmingham-based athletic footwear company, will open a new store in Olive Branch inside an existing 4,642-square-foot space at 5036 Goodman Road in the Wedgewood Commons development, which includes the area's Target.
An opening date was not immediately available.
The chain has over 1,000 stores across 36 states. While they are known for selling big name athletic shoe brands, Hibbett also sells boots, Crocs, slip-ons and more sub-varieties. A limited selection of shorts, graphic tees, jackets, joggers, hats and the like are sold as well, along with branded NBA, MLB and NFL gear.
There are currently five Hibbett locations across Shelby County, as well as one in West Memphis.
