Labor Day weekend in Memphis is going to be hot, with 90-degree temperatures and triple-digit heat indices expected during the day all weekend.
There's also a chance of thunderstorms on Sept. 5, but that will do little to temper the heat, according to a forecast released by the National Weather Service in Memphis
. The NWS has set a heat advisory in effect through 8 p.m. that day due to a prolonged period of dangerous heat.Here's the weekend weather forecast from the NWS in Memphis.
Friday weather
Sept. 4 is expected to be sunny with highs in the upper 90s and southeast winds around 5 mph. Heat index values will reach triple digits, around 111.
Friday night should be mostly clear with lows in the upper 70s.
Saturday weather
Sept. 5 is expected to be sunny with a slight chance
of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. It'll still be hot, though, with highs in the upper 90s and heat value index values up to 110. There's a 20% chance of rain.
Saturday night should be partly cloudy in the evening before becoming mostly clear, with lows in the mid 70s.

Sept. 6 wil be sunny with high temps in the upper 90s and heat index values up to 105.
Sunday night will be partly cloudy and then will become mostly clear, with lows again in the mid 70s.
Monday weather
Sept. 7, Labor Day, should be sunny with highs in the upper 90s and heat index values up to 105.
That evening should be mostly clear with lows in the mid 70s.
