Baskin-Robbins recently celebrated a grand opening and ribbon cutting at its new Hernando shop at 2815 Rylan Road, on Oct. 17.
Baskin-Robbins officially opened the 1,290-square-foot location on Sept. 3.
The Hernando shop is franchisee Vic Patel’s 10th Baskin-Robbins location, according to a news release. The new location features a reimagined design with a fresh and modern look, according to a news release. The Hernando shop — which has a staff of nine employees — can seat 25 guests indoors and 15 guests outdoors.

Patel — who has been a franchise owner since 2009 — said the opportunity to expand his business drew him to the Hernando community.
“After more than
15 years as a Baskin-Robbins franchisee, opening our 10th shop is a huge milestone for our team,” Patel said in the news release. “Being a Baskin franchisee allows us to be part of the communities we serve, whether they’re celebrating a special occasion or stopping in for their favorite flavor. We’re excited to welcome the Hernando community and give them a place they look forward to visiting again and again.”
During the grand opening event, the first 50 guests in line received a free scoop of ice cream.
Collierville Holmes Road bridge reopens
The Town of Collierville reopened the Holmes Road bridge, located east on Reynolds Road, on Oct. 19.
According to a news release, the Holmes Road bridge restores a direct route for motorists and completes a project to address structural deterioration and extends the bridge’s life.

The bridge closed in May 2025 after an inspection by the Tennessee Department of Transportation identified major deterioration of structural components. TDOT notified the Town the bridge needed to close for public safety. The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a construction contract for the necessary rehabilitation during a April meeting.
The roughly $438,000 bridge project was funded through the Town’s general fund and is expected to extend the bridge’s useful life by 15 to 20 years, according to the project’s engineering assessment. Construction on the bridge project began in June.
“Maintaining our infrastructure is an important investment in Collierville’s future,” Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser said in a release. “This project demonstrates how careful planning and sound engineering can address infrastructure needs, make the most of existing assets, and maintain important connections for our community.”
