In 2026, a number of shops and retailers have opened in Memphis city limits, from a gym to an artist marketplace, record shop and much more.
Here are seven stores that opened in 2026 or are expected to open soon this year in Memphis.
Poplar & Payne
4934 Poplar Ave
Opening Sept. 26, this East Memphis space describes itself as a "boutique marketplace" that local artists, boutique owners, vintage collectors and other small businesses will share together — with all purchases supporting local creators. Some artists and seasonal displays will rotate throughout the year.
That's everything from fabric art to specialize dog treats, creative hats, jewelry and paintings.
Additionally, select instructors in the space will offer workshops and creative classes, the first of which
being a baking class from Aunt Kimmy’s Cookies.
The TEN Nail Bar
732 Madison Ave.
This Detroit-based nail baris set to expand in the Edge District in Orleans Station, according to the Downtown Memphis Commission. An opening date of 2026 was expected, though no specific date has been announced.
TEN Nail Bar's services include manicures and pedicures, some with gel, waxing, lash extensions, brow tinting and of course, high quality nail art.
JD Sports
5048 Park Ave.
JD Sports has opened its third Memphis area location in the Eastgate Shopping Center in East Memphis. The British sports-fashion company specializes in a huge range of sneakers and running shoes from all the biggest brands. Typical sportswear like sweatpants, leggings and jerseys are available as well, along with less "sporty" options — jeans, hoodies, dresses, skirts, graphic tees and more.
Other metro-area locations can be found in Southaven and the Wolfchase Galleria Mall in Cordova.
Joe's Records
2760 N Germantown Pkwy
Vinyl's comeback is in Cordova.
St. Louis-based retailer Joe’s Records has a new slot inside the Wolfchase Galleria Mall. Modeled after the mall record retailers of the ‘80s and '90s, the shop carries both new and used vinyl LPs, new and used compact discs, t-shirts, posters, and other music related merchandise.
Rush Gaming and Collectables
6069 Park Ave.
Open since late August, this store for card game lovers includes multiple tables for hosting tournaments and individual players alike, as well as a large stock of bundled decks and rare cards for enthusiasts to improve their collections. Pokémon cards primarily stock the store for now.
The Station
870 S. White Station Road
This massive liquor store at White Station Road and Poplar Avenue has been one of the biggest in Memphis since it opened in February. The Station, its name referencing nearby train tracks, carries just about every variety of alcoholic drink both cheap and premium, from the most popular wines, rums, vodkas, etc., to popular locally brewed concoctions like Skydog and Tiny Bomb.
Gym 11
405 Monroe Ave.
Downtown Memphis has been in need of more gyms, and Gym 11 is filing that gap. Whether you're looking for a personal training session, aiming to get some cardio in or improve your lifts, this gym has all the modern equipment you need.
Memberships start at $60 per month, with an $80 annual fee. Additionall services include a customized meal play for $75 per month, lifestyle coaching for $125, and professional contest prep for $250.
