Memphis football has scheduled a home-and-home series with Toledo, a source confirmed to The Commercial Appeal.
The Tigers will host the Rockets in 2027 before traveling to the Glass Bowl in 2028. It will be the first time the Tigers and Rockets have met in football. The source asked for anonymity because the game has not been officially announced.
Toledo went 8-5 in 2025, but coach Jason Candle left for UConn. He was replaced by former Mercer coach Mike Jacobs, who will begin his tenure as Rockets' coach against Michigan State on Sept. 4. Toledo has gone to bowl games for five straight seasons.
The game will complete Memphis' 2027 non-conference schedule. For the second straight year, the Tigers will not face a power conference team. They'll host
Toledo and Southern Miss while facing Arkansas State and Middle Tennessee State on the road.
In 2028, Memphis will face Arkansas and Toledo on the road while hosting Mississippi State and Arkansas State.
Memphis begins its 2026 season on the road at UNLV on Aug. 29.

- 2030: Boise State, at Southern Miss, at Arkansas (one open slot)
