Southern icon Dolly Parton recently unveiled her latest business venture — a truck stop inspired by the roadside cafes consistent with a life spent on tour.
Dolly Parton's Tennessean Travel Stop is several hours away from Memphis, but still within driving distance for any dedicated fans who want to make a pilgrimage to the southern icon's latest business venture.
Parton cut the ribbon to her new Tennessean Travel Stop on June 24.
The site was designed with truckers in mind. In addition to standard travel stop amenities such as dining options and restrooms, the stop will feature truck parking, a trucker's lounge and fuel stations for both passenger vehicles and commercial trucks.
"I have spent the bulk of my life on the road, and more specifically
on a bus," Parton said in a statement at the time of the stop's unveiling. "All the years spent visiting greasy spoon cafes, truck stops and roadside pit stops have given me an understanding of what travelers desire on the road."
How do I get to Dolly Parton's truck stop from Memphis?
Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop is located at 3686 Pulaski Hwy in Cornersville. That's just over 3 hours and 30 minutes away from Downtown Memphis.
If you're looking to make the journey out to the truck stop, you can head East from Memphis on Interstate 40. Take exit 176 to merge onto Interstate 840 East towards Knoxville/Franklin, and then take exit 31 to merge onto Interstate 65 South towards Huntsville.
Then, you'll take exit 22 towards US Highway 31 in Cornersville, which is where you'll find the truck stop.
