Memphis football keeps winning, and the Tigers are back on the radar of the top 25.
The Tigers (5-1, 2-0 American Conference) beat UAB 38-13 on Oct. 10. It was their third-straight blowout win, and it led to votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll for the first time since Memphis lost to Boise State on Sept. 12.
Memphis received six voting points in the poll that was released on Oct. 11, meaning the Tigers landed at essentially No. 38 in the poll. The AP Poll will be released later on Oct. 11.
Boise State was the only ranked Group of Six team at No. 24. James Madison, New Mexico, UTSA and Oregon State also received votes.
While Memphis has looked (along with UTSA) like one of the two favorites to win the American Conference title this season. But the Tigers
are still facing an uphill climb to get into the playoff race because of the loss to the Broncos, who will need to lose at least once and probably twice for the Tigers to have a shot.
Memphis has a short week and is back in action on Oct. 16 (6:30 p.m., ESPN) when the Tigers travel to New Orleans to face Tulane (2-3, 0-1).
