More details of the Memphis men's basketball team's 2026-27 schedule were released Aug. 7.
The American Conference announced its schedule pairings for the 13 teams in the league. Each team will play 18 conference games − facing six teams twice (once at home and once on the road) and the other six teams once (three at home, three on the road).
Dates and tip-off times for the Tigers' conference games will be announced later.
Coach Penny Hardaway and the Tigers will get two matchups against five of the top six teams in last season's American Conference standings: defending champion USF, runners-up Wichita State, UAB, Charlotte and North Texas. The Tigers will also meet Tulane at FedExForum and at Fogelman Arena in New Orleans.
Tulsa, East Carolina
and Rice are the Tigers' three home-only opponents, while FAU, Temple and UTSA are their three away-only matchups.
Memphis' nonconference schedule has not yet been finalized, but most of it is already in place − and, like last season, it sets up to be among the strongest in the nation.
Home games: VCU (Nov. 7), Louisville (Nov. 15), Evansville (Nov. 22), Grand Canyon (Dec. 11), Utah State (Feb. 20, 2027)
Road games: Vanderbilt (Nov. 10), Baylor (Dec. 5), Texas (Dec. 16)
Neutral-site games: Iowa State (Nov. 2, Sanford Pentagon, Sioux Falls, South Dakota), two games against either Wake Forest, Mississippi State, Penn State or Xavier (Nov. 25 and 27, Battle 4 Atlantis, Bahamas), Dayton (Nov. 29, Atlantic 10-American Conference Showcase, Columbus, Ohio)
The Tigers have two nonconference openings that have not yet been announced.
The Tigers have also scheduled preseason exhibition games at Mississippi State (Oct. 23) and at Arkansas (Oct. 29), and they are expected to host a third exhibition game at FedExForum in October.
Memphis finished 13-19 last season and tied for eighth in the conference with an 8-10 record.
Memphis women's basketball American Conference pairings
