BOISE, ID — When Memphis football beat UNLV to open the 2026 season, coach Charles Huff made a bold declaration that got attention from across the college football world.
"We get the kids who are worried about football and creating value for themselves," Huff said. "We don’t do ice cream trucks. We don’t do fun things. You know what's fun? That locker room right now is fun."
After Memphis (2-1) lost 38-20 to Boise State on Sept. 12, the Broncos (1-1) trolled Huff and the Tigers with their postgame promotion.
"𝙃𝘼𝘿 𝙎𝙊𝙈𝙀 𝙁𝙐𝙉 𝙏𝙊𝘿𝘼𝙔 so Bronco Nation can have fun tomorrow! Put on your Bronco gear and stop by Scheels Meridian TOMORROW from noon-4 PM to buy one scoop, get a second scoop 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘!" Boise State wrote in a post on X.

The Tigers jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the game, but Boise State weathered the storm and responded with a 35-3 run and the eventual win. It's a victory that establishes the Broncos as the top team in the Group of 6.
There's still plenty of football left to be played this season. The Tigers are back in action on Sept. 19 (6 p.m., ESPN+) when they take on UT Martin at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
