NASHVILLE ‒ As you pull into Music City, a highway billboard for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum reads "Elvis Has Never Left the Building." In truth, it took Presley decades to there officially — he was inducted in 1998, 21 years after his death. Now his first producer, Sun Records founder Sam Phillips, has joined the King of Rock and Roll in country music's highest honor. Thursday night in a ceremony at the institution's new downtown address, Phillips along with 11 others joined the ranks of 74 performers, producers and founding music men who have been inducted into the Hall since it was established in 1961 by the Country Music Association.

Senator Fulbright referred to a proposal from the Aluminum Company of Canada (Alcan) that the United States enter into a nine-year contract for 100,000 tons of aluminum a year which would finance construction of a new Alcan 100,000-ton plant in British Columbia. He said yesterday that if the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who are now considering the proposal, adopt it, "Canada might take the plants from Arkansas."

Tiger Flynn, rightfully named a local welterweight, arose to the pinnacle of his brief but turbulent ring career last night in the arena of the Southern Athletic Club. But in reaching the top he was forced to batter his way past Sandy Crowe of El Paso, Texas, another youngster who might rightfully be named after some beast of the Jungle. Flynn was awarded the decision by Billy Haack, referee, and he earned it after the most viciously contested affair with the gloves probably ever witnessed in a local arena.
