The Grizzlies added Stewart in the summer after he spent his first five seasons with the Detroit Pistons. Stewart was acquired to add depth to Memphis' center rotation.

Projected starting center Zach Edey has been fully cleared for all basketball activities and has been practicing with the team, but he was not available for the preseason opener.
