What is the story about?

The Oregon-based Dutch Bros Coffee franchise continues its rapid expansion into the Memphis market.

An administrative site plan permit was filed Sept. 21 with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development for a new Dutch Bros location on Summer Avenue in East Memphis.

The 1,014-square-foot building at 4307 Summer Ave. will have a two-lane drive-thru and parking lot adjacent to the coffee shop. The Summer Avenue location is next to the Baskin-Robbins site, near Central BBQ and directly across from the Summer Center strip mall.

Outside of 4307 Summer Ave. The vacant lot has plans for a new Dutch Bros Coffee location.

Dutch Bros Coffee launched in 1992 and expanded into franchising in 2000. Since then, the company has more than 1,100 locations nationwide. The Summer Avenue location is the fifth Dutch Bros Coffee planned

or under construction within the Memphis area.

The coffee franchise opened its first Memphis-area location in Collierville, with plans for locations in Arlington, Bartlett, and Memphis' Raleigh neighborhood.
