Amateur horsemen will be active in the Mid-South this weekend. Several events are carded, featuring quarter horses, barrel racers, racking and reining. Country music star Johnny Rodriquez is expected to attract a large crowd in Lexington, Tenn., tomorrow night for the first Rodriquez Barrel Racing Derby at Pratt's Park. . .A 13-class charity horse show featuring racking horses and roadster ponies, will be presented tomorrow night at Fairview Farm on Highway 45 North near Jackson, Tenn.

Women of the Moose, held its regular meeting Monday. Mrs. Josephine Risner was notified by the Grand Lodge to go to Vicksburg Sunday, Aug. 12, to institute a new chapter. She was accompanied by Mrs. Edna Collins, Mrs. Grace Henders and Mrs. Mildred Miller from Memphis. They were assisted by members from the Jackson Lodge.

Memphis will be thronged today by the Dixie Boosters, 1,000 strong, who come to this city for their annual convention. The Dixie Boosters is a social organization formed among members of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and its Woman's Auxiliaries in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee. It is formed for the purpose of good fellowship and commands full support of the brotherhoods.
