It’s late September, and with Week 6 of the TSSAA footballseason on the horizon, we’ve reached the halfway point of the year. Here are some of the Memphis area’s top offensive performers at the midway point.
Players are listed alphabetically; statistics were submitted to The Commercial Appeal by Memphis area coaches or stats available on MaxPreps.
Dylan Allen, Arlington, Jr.: The junior has been the premier wide receiver target for quarterback Jack Tidwell. He leads the Tigers in receptions with 15 and has 267 receiving yards.
Jack Tidwell, Arlington, Sr.: Tidwell’s style as a quarterback is tailored for efficiency. He has thrown for 797 yards in five games while completing 72% of his passes. Even in Arlington’s 55-7 loss to Collierville, he averaged
10.4 yards per completion.
Christopher Freeman, Bartlett, Jr.: The Panthers’ 6-foot-2 wide receiver has 20 receptions for 416 yards and five touchdowns.

Aiden Jackson, Bartlett, Sr.: The sturdy 6-foot-1, 210-pound running back has put together an impressive season. He has run 86 times for 507 yards and four touchdowns while also averaging 11.3 yards per reception.
Pierce Washington, Bartlett, Sr.: Washington’s size and vertical ability make him a matchup nightmare on jump balls. The wide receiver has 16 catches this season for 281 yards and five touchdowns.
Cayden Dixon, Briarcrest, Jr.: Dixon has been efficient and effective at quarterback, completing 71% of his passes for 704 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Saints have scored at least 40 points in every game this season.
Octavius Flynn, Briarcrest, Jr.: Flynn, Dixon’s running back, has rushed for 434 yards and 11 total touchdowns.
Christian Harris, Christian Brothers, Jr.: Harris has been Brick’s home-run target, averaging 22.1 yards per catch with 331 yards and five touchdowns in 2026.
Nate Brick, Christian Brothers, So.: The 6-foot-4 sophomore signal-caller has lit up the Memphis area in 2026. He's completing 70.3% of his passes for 1,019 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Larry Johnson, Collierville, Sr.: Johnson has led the Dragons’ ground game with 329 rushing yards and three touchdowns. His 6.3 yards per carry underscores his effectiveness.
Brayden Santibanez, Collierville, Sr.: Through five games, Santibanez has 513 yards passing, five touchdowns and three interceptions. He also has 109 yards rushing and a TD.
Tae Walden Jr., Collierville, Sr.: The four-star Oregon commit has shown impressive two-way ability throughout his career. He has a team-high 33 receptions for 390 yards and three touchdowns.
Wright Arthur, ECS, Jr.: Arthur has 54 carries for 314 yards and a touchdown.
Canon Day, Houston, Jr.: The Mustangs earned an important Week 5 win over Bartlett, and Day’s dual-threat ability made it happen. He has thrown for 751 yards, rushed for 375 more and accounted for 12 total touchdowns.
Raderius Robertson, Houston, Jr.: The elusive running back has paired nicely with Day in the Mustangs’ backfield. Robertson ran 26 times for 125 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Sept. 18 win over Bartlett.
Lawrence Britt, Lausanne, Sr.: The Missouri commit has played quarterback this season for Lausanne and through three games had 573 yards passing with three touchdowns and four interceptions. He's also rushed for 148 yards and three TDs.
Brett Godwin, Lakeland Prep, Sr.: Godwin has 1,482 yards passing with 20 touchdowns and only one interception.
Connor Jones, Lakeland Prep, Sr.: Jones has 29 receptions for 536 yards receiving and six TDs.
Reginald Banks, Melrose, Jr.: The 5-foot-7 running back has 754 rushing yards with eight touchdowns. He is averaging 13.5 yards per carry and has rushed for more than 100 yards in every game this season.
Derreon Martin, Memphis Central, Sr.: Martin has established himself on the ground with 342 rushing yards, averaging 9.2 yards per carry. He also has 122 receiving yards this season.
Tay Starks, Munford, Jr.: Starks has been an elite rusher for years, already totaling 3,758 career rushing yards and 55 touchdowns in 2.5 seasons at Munford. In 2026, he already tallied 463 yards and 10 TDs.
Jack Hill, MUS, So.: Hill has split time at QB with Cullen Hayden and Dhilan Madasu. Hill has thrown for 249 yards and four touchdowns
Malcolm Jack, Southwind, Sr.: Through four games, Jack has 620 yards passing with seven touchdowns and is averaging 155 yards passing a game.
Khamoni Williams, Southwind, Sr.: The Auburn commit is a strong running back who is averaging nearly 15 yards per carry this season.
Ford Lamar, St. George's Jr.: Lamar leads St. George's with 807 yards passing with nine touchdowns and three interceptions.
Jour’din Shelton, Whitehaven, Jr.: The Whitehaven quarterback has led the Tigers to a 4-1 start since transferring from Germantown. The three-star prospect has elite dual-threat upside and explosive arm talent.
