Memphis rap greats Three 6 Mafia will return to the Orpheum in early 2027 for three black-tie evenings of orchestral music and hip-hop.
The Academy Award-winning Bluff City group is set to play the Downtown venue Feb. 19-21 and will be joined by The Renaissance Orchestra for “a full live orchestral reimagining of their catalog.”
The first two shows have nearly sold out, necessitating a demand for a third show on Feb. 21. Tickets for that concert start at $123.
Founded in 1991, and still led by DJ Paul (Paul Beauregard) and Juicy J (Jordan Houston), Three 6 Mafia made history as the first hip-hop act to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song, taking home
the Oscar for “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp” from Memphis director Craig Brewer's "Hustle & Flow," becoming the first hip-hop group to perform on the Oscars stage.
The Atlanta-based Renaissance Orchestra is known for reimagining “hip-hop, R&B, soul and gospel through the lens of a full orchestra” and “transforming theaters and arenas into elegant, black-tie concert experiences."
Renaissance Orchestra has backed major artists, performing as part of Rick Ross' Port of Miami 20th Anniversary Tour. The group recently appeared at the Orpheum Theatre playing behind another set of Memphis rap legends: 8Ball & MJG.
