Voting is now open for The Commercial Appeal's Memphis area high school boys athlete of the week from Aug. 31-Sept. 5. The poll closes Sept. 10 at 4 p.m.
Nominees are:
Octavius Flynn, Briarcrest: Flynn ran the ball 16 times for 177 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-17 victory over Ensworth.
Nate Brick, CBHS: Brick was 13-of-16 passing for 331 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-21 win against Lausanne.
Tacavion Adams, Covington: Adams returned two fumbles (8 and 16 yards) for touchdowns in a 67-14 victory over Douglass.
Will Myatt, Houston: Myatt shot 61 to capture medalist honors
in the Dragon Invitational at Glen Eagle.
Connor Jones, Lakeland Prep: Jones had six receptions for 170 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-8 win against Millington.
Javarris Hickman, Olive Branch: Hickman carried the ball 24 time for 275 yards and two touchdowns in a 49-30 victory over Lewisburg.
