The Memphis Grizzlies are opening the season at home on Oct. 21 against the Utah Jazz.
This matchup will be a good early test and matchup of two rosters expecting to improve after down seasons.
Memphis is entering the game with most of its roster healthy. Isaiah Stewart is doubtful to play due to a left ankle sprain.
Utah will be missing projected starting center Jusuf Nurkic, but there's plenty of offensive firepower to make up for his absence. Keyonte George, Ace Bailey, Lauri Markkanen and rookie No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson are all explosive scorers.
There's also two-time All-Star and former Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr., who was traded to Utah last February. This will be Jackson's first time playing against the Grizzlies.
Jackson
will spend parts of the game matched up against 2026 No. 3 overall pick Cam Boozer and former teammate Zach Edey. Memphis gave Jackson a tribute video during a matchup last season after the trade deadline, but he didn't play in that game.
The Grizzlies have won four of their last five season openers. Memphis is 44-69 in all-time meetings against Utah.
