Good news for all you coffee drinkers in DeSoto County.
Southaven is getting a ton of buzz... and more than a few jolts of caffeine. JoJo’s Espresso is officially entering the neighborhood.
Founded by Taylor and Hannah Whiddon, the popular local chain announced on social media that it will open a Southaven location in 2027.
“We officially broke ground on what will become our third JoJo’s Espresso location, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who has believed in us along the way," JoJo's Espresso posted on Facebook. “Southaven, we can’t wait to serve you, become part of your community, and create a place where memories are made over great coffee.”
The 2,338-square-foot location will be in the DeSoto District, a 21-acre mixed-use development just south of the popular $200 million, 228-acre Silo Square.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the DeSoto District was held Aug. 3. The development is being spearheaded by Germantown-based McNeil Commercial Real Estate, under the leadership of company president Spence Ray.
“Southaven has done a wonderful job of creating a dining-entertainment district,” said Ray, who noted JoJo's is expected to open in July 2027. “We have been working on planning and construction of infrastructure for three years.”
This will be JoJo's third location in the Memphis area. The other two are in Germantown.
The Whiddons opened JoJo's first permanent storefront in the Thornwood development in Germantown in 2022. A few years later, due to JoJo's popularity, they moved into a larger nearby location at Thornwood. That same year, they also expanded to Methodist Germantown Hospital, where Hannah began her nursing career.
In addition to a variety of coffees, teas and espressos, JoJo’s menu features breakfast items such as avocado toast, Belgian waffles and breakfast burritos, along with lunch options including turkey melts, chicken pesto sandwiches and salads.
