Memphis Central defensive lineman Joshua Lane announced he has decommitted from Memphis through a post on his social media account on X.
Lane is a three-star recruit according to 247Sporrts Composite and is the No. 63-ranked prospect in the state from the 2027 class. He originally committed to Memphis on June 20 but has since received offers from several SEC schools including Tennessee, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri and Kentucky.
Lane posted on X that he will be visiting the Crimson Tide on Oct. 24.
Before the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman committed to Memphis he received offers from 11 schools on June 2, including Memphis, Ole Miss, Western
Kentucky and Tennessee State among others. His official scholarship offer count is at 21, according to 247Sports.
Lane anchors a Memphis Central defense that is 6-0 and has outscored opponents 240-53. The Warriors sit atop the Region 8-5A standings after defeating Brighton, 49-17, to begin region play. Central faces Overton at 7 p.m. on Oct. 2.
Lane was key to Memphis Central's defense as a junior, producing 69 tackles, including five tackles for loss and one sack in 2025 as Central finished 9-3 and lost in the second round of the TSSAA football playoffs.
