The Riverside County coroner's office has identified the man who died Friday, Oct. 16, in a single-vehicle crash near the entrance of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
The man was identified as Donald Beeson, 74, of Tucson, Arizona, the coroner's office confirmed Thursday, Oct. 22.
Officers with the Palm Springs Police Department had responded to the crash around 5:32 p.m. Oct. 16 and found Beeson unresponsive inside the vehicle near the tramway's parking lot entrance at 1 Tramway Road, Lt. Michael Torres previously said.
Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene shortly afterward.
The circumstances of the crash remain unclear, including whether Beeson experienced a medical emergency.
