Tuesdays That Give is Lola Rose Grand Mezze's monthly community gathering created to support local nonprofits and charitable organizations. Held the last Tuesday of the month from 6 to 8 p.m., this special happy hour brings together great food, refreshing cocktails, live music and meaningful local connections.
The goal between Lola Rose Grand Mezze and local nonprofits is a true partnership: For Tuesdays That Give, the restaurant provides the space and the hospitality experience, which includes music, promotional support and an opportunity for the charitable organization to engage directly with the community.
The event taking place this Tuesday, Sept.
29, will benefit the Coachella Valley Journalism Foundation, whose mission is to promote and support sustainable community journalism in the Coachella Valley. The nonprofit aims to lift up and recognize the work of valley journalists by providing support to local newsrooms through the raising of funds to bolster staffing, by helping local news organizations fund interns or fellows and by offering one-time grants to assist publications with reporting efforts.
"We are so grateful to the leaders of Thompson Hotel for inviting the community to their beautiful Lola Rose bar and restaurant all in the name of charity and supporting the Coachella Valley Journalism Foundation," said its board president, Randy Lovely. "The proceeds for food and beverage sales will go to CVJF and our campaign to support valley nonprofits through funding of The Desert Sun's philanthropy coverage."
