Firefighters are battling a vegetation fire that is burning 54 acres in Perris on Sunday, Oct. 4.
The blaze was reported around 2 p.m. at the 21-100 block of Hartford Park, near Lake Matthews and the Harford Springs Reserve, according to Cal Fire's website. It was seven to 10 acres around 2:30 p.m. and grew to 30 acres by around 3 p.m. before increasing to 54 acres at 4 p.m.
Cal Fire's incident update said four airtankers were assigned to contain the fire, which irregular winds were pushing northwest. It said that the fire's growth had slowed down significantly around 3:30 p.m. There were no reported injuries, Cal Fire said on X.

Cal Fire said there were no evacuations due to the Harford Fire.
