A man died Friday, Oct. 16, after a single-vehicle crash near the entrance of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, police said.
Officers responded to the crash around 5:32 p.m. and found the man unresponsive inside the vehicle near the tramway's parking lot entrance at 1 Tramway Road, said Lt. Michael Torres, a spokesperson for the Palm Springs Police Department.
Emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene shortly afterward. His identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.
The cause of the crash, including whether a medical emergency may have played a role, remains under investigation.
