Even though Head Trip festival headliner Swedish House Mafia played over 30 minutes past the typical midnight curfew on Sunday, Oct. 11, the city of Indio is telling promotor Goldenvoice "Don't You Worry Child" about a hefty fine.
City of Indio spokesperson Jessica Mediano said in an email Tuesday, Oct. 13, that "due to the weather-related circumstances impacting Head Trip on Saturday
, the City of Indio will not be issuing a fine on Goldenvoice for Sunday."A 2013 Indio permit outlining the conditions under which Goldenvoice can hold the Coachella music festival (which is held at the same venue as Head Trip) states that all performances must conclude by 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and midnight on Sunday. The agreement states that Goldenvoice will
be fined $20,000 each time a performance goes past curfew, plus $1,000 a minute starting at the sixth minute after curfew.

Swedish House Mafia began its set around 20 minutes late and played until 12:33 a.m. If the city was following the same curfew rules and issuing a fine, it would have amounted to a $48,000 fine.
However, Saturday's festival was suspended and later canceled due to rain and lightning concerns. Performers Chris Lake and Fisher's set was cut off by 10 minutes, and Saturday headliner Calvin Harris was not able to perform. Earlier in the day, festival organizers adjusted set times in order for the show to conclude by 11 p.m., or two hours early from the originally scheduled time.
Many festivalgoers were disappointed by the decision, but they were treated to a stacked lineup on Sunday, which included the addition of Harris.
