It may be 100+ degrees outside, but that doesn't mean Palm Springs residents can't get spooky season started early with an Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy.
The one-night-only event is a "chilling immersive cocktail experience," as its press release states, and offers patrons the chance to see some of Poe's classic poems and short stories come to life, with a themed cocktail in hand. The 21-and-older experience retells and reimagines four of his most famous works — "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Black Cat," "The Raven" and "The Masque of the Red Death" — and pairs them with drinks that complement the vibe of each piece.
Bespoke mocktails are also available upon request for those who are sober or taking a break from alcohol.
The Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy
will take place Friday, Aug. 14, inside Cascade Lounge at Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs, located at 401 E. Amado Road in Palm Springs. Three seatings are available at 6, 8 and 10 p.m., and tickets costs $65 per person. Self-parking and valet parking are complimentary.
