A fast-growing wildfire erupted Tuesday, Aug. 25, just south of Mead Valley in Riverside County.
Cal Fire reported the Wood Fire's location as near the intersection of Cajalco Road and Wood Road.
First reported around 1:39 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 25, the Wood Fire has increased to around 57 acres at 0% containment, according to Cal Fire. The fire monitoring site Watch Duty reported it had a "critical" rate of spread and could reach 150 acres.
A total of 100 personnel had already been assigned to the fire, with 15 engines, one water tender, three helicopters and two dozers helping to fight the blaze.

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning
for the region around the fire that extends to Friday, Aug. 28. The temperature is expected to reach over 105 degrees each day until the warning period.
NWS said wind gusts could reach as high as 20 mph on Wednesday afternoon, which could cause the fire to spread more rapidly.
