Have you ever made a hole-in-one, or won a game against your arch rival with a last-second score?
Me neither, but those are just two of the accomplishments turned in by this week's candidates for The Desert Sun's Athlete of the Week.
Remember it's you that decides The Desert Sun's Athlete of the Week by voting in the poll attached to this article at desertsun.com. You simply read the accomplishments of the five honorees and then vote for your favorite. Whoever has the most votes at noon on Saturday will be the weekly winner.
Before we look at this week's candidates, let's reveal who you voted for last week. You voted and you chose Palm Desert flag football standout Gwyneth Kitagawa. In back-to-back wins, Kitagawa had a total of two touchdowns and two interceptions
for the Aztecs.

Keira Cassady, Rancho Mirage golf
What she did: In a pair of wins spanning 27 holes, Cassady was a combined 3-over, helping the Rattlers to a 2-0 start in league play. The defending Desert Empire League individual champion is showcasing her skill again this year as a member of the Desert Valley League after the leagues reshuffled.
Gavin Lawrence, La Quinta water polo
What he did: Lawrence was the hero for the Blackhawks, scoring a dramatic last-second goal at the buzzer to lift the Blackhawks past rival Palm Desert 10-9.
Mia Margolis, Palm Desert golf
What she did: Margolis accomplished the golfer's dream. She got a hole-in-one in competition. In the Rainbow Sandals Invitational hosted by San Clemente, Margolis aced the 102-yard ninth hole with a ptiching wedge. She finished the day with an 82 helping the Aztecs finish sixth as a team.
Aliya Rapolla, Palm Springs volleyball
What she did: Despite a 3-0 sweep to a win over Yucca Valley, Rapolla had a particularly productive night, racking up 17 kills and 14 digs in the victory as the Indians battle for the third place spot in the DEL and the playoff bid that goes with it.
Natalia Smith, Shadow Hills volleyball
What she did: Smith was unstoppable in a 3-1 win over Rancho Mirage as she had a whopping 25 kills on the night to help the Knights move into first place alone in the Desert Valley League standings.
