A Halloween candy sold at California retail stores has been recalled over an undisclosed allergy, the Food and Drug Administration says.
Crystal Temptations, headquartered in New Jersey, recalled its Chocolatey Eyeballs on Aug. 31, as they contain undeclared milk, which could cause serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if people with milk sensitivities eat them, the FDA said.
On its website, the company said the labeling issue resulted from "a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes."
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled products.

Which Halloween products were recalled?
Five Crystal Temptations Chocolatey Eyeballs products were recalled. Those items include:
- 7-ounce acrylic box with designed paper wrap, Style # 54077-CHEY
- 10-ounce plastic bag with designed header card, Style # 54040-CHEY
- 10.5-ounce round plastic jar, Style # 58008-CHEY
- 11-ounce plastic bag tied with a tag, Style # 54083-CHEY
- 16-ounce designer plastic pouch bag, Style # 58089-CHEY
Where was the recalled Halloween candy sold?
The recalled Halloween candy was sold at a number of California retail stores, including Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post.

What to do with recalled Halloween candy
If customers have any recalled Crystal Temptations Chocolatey Eyeballs, they are urged to destroy them, according to the FDA.
Customers cannot return the recalled products to the stores where they were purchased for a refund. Instead, they should reach out to Crystal Temptations with proof of purchase to get a refund.
