If you’re not heading to Head Trip this weekend, there are plenty of other events happening across the Coachella Valley. This week’s concert lineup includes a pop singer known for hits featured in television shows and commercials, a compelling folk singer-songwriter, a tribute to a legendary rock band, and an indie rock group featuring two former members of a renowned metal band.

Sunday: Ingrid Michaelson at The Plaza Theatre

Pop: In 2007, Ingrid Michaelson’s song “The Way I Am” became a hit after it appeared in a commercial for Old Navy and after she performed it during her TV debut on “Last Call With Carson Daly.” Her other songs "Be OK," "Keep Breathing" and "Girls Chase Boys” were also successful.
She was one of the first indie-pop artists during the 2000s to popularize the ukulele at
that time, even though rock artists had during previous years, and her heartfelt, quirky and catchy songs were often picked up for commercials and TV shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scrubs,” “One Tree Hill” and more.
Michaelson will perform on Sunday at The Plaza Theatre.

Thursday: Damien Jurado at Pappy and Harriet's
Folk: Damien Jurado is a contemporary folk singer and his songs blend Americana and psychedelic rock with meditative and literary storytelling, similar to songwriters such as Nick Drake and Iron & Wine. His songs “A.M. AM" and "Cloudy Shoes" were prominently featured in the 2018 Netflix docuseries “Wild Wild Country” and introduced him to a new audience.
Jurado will perform on Thursday at Pappy and Harriet’s.

Friday: Brit Floyd at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa
Tribute: Pink Floyd is celebrated by many tribute bands that put on a fantastic live show that is true to various eras of the legendary British progressive rock band’s history, such as Echoes, The Australian Pink Floyd Show, The Machine, etc. Brit Floyd is one of the top-tier tribute bands and performs live shows featuring laser shows and visual effects.
Sometimes, the Brit Floyd’s live shows have featured members of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters’ studio and touring lineups. Brit Floyd will perform on Friday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa.

Sunday: Drag Talk at The Dune Room

Rock: Drag Talk is an indie rock and shoegaze band featuring melodic songwriting and two former members of the metal band Ghost, vocalist Jutty Taylor and drummer Hayden Scott. Taylor and Scott have described themselves as “hardcore punk dudes who love Oasis,” which explains a lot of their sound inspired by Britpop and ‘90s alternative rock.
