ABC's dancing-based reality show will return soon for its 35th season, with a fresh cast of stars.
"Dancing with the Stars" will air on ABC and Disney+ and will have a two-night premiere on Sept. 15 and 16.
The show is filmed in California where many of the stars may already be spending time on their own projects.
However, a few contestants have deeper ties to the Golden State.
Who is on 'Dancing with the Stars'?
California is no stranger to star power, but four "Dancing with the Stars" contestants have deep roots in the state.
Celebrity chef Giada DeLaurentiis was born in Italy, but was raised in Los Angeles since the age of 7.


Paralympic gold medalist Ezra Frech is a Los Angeles native. He stayed in his hometown for the University of Southern California but has competed worldwide
for Team USA.

Actor and former backup dancer Harry Shum Jr. is best known for his role on Glee among other television and movie appearances. He was born in Costa Rica but moved to San Francisco at an early age.
Jimmy Kimmel Live staple Guillermo Rodriguez was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, but has lived in California for decades and has been on Kimmel's show for 23 years.
