A wildfire in southwestern Riverside County is burning roughly 35 acres and threatening nearby structures on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Cal Fire said the Chia Fire in Aguanga was reported around 12 p.m. at Wilson Valley Road and California State Route 371. It is burning at a moderate rate of spread. Additional fire engines are responding to the scene.
Watch Duty, a nonprofit organization that reports on wildfires, reported that the blaze has the potential to be 100 acres in 30 to 45 minutes.
Chia Fire evacuations
Cal Fire had not announced any evacuations as of around 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.
Chia Fire road closures
Cal Fire said a section of California State Route 371 by its intersection with Wilson Valley Road is closed.
